Just wanted to say, that I was able to place x41 tablet XGA LCD on x61 thinkpad.
Frame from x41 was to thick, so I dissasembled both screens and placed X41's LCD to the x61's frame with backlit. Also I cutted several clips on the top of the x61's white plastic frame to fit it under metal frame.
To connect x41t screen I used cable from aliexpress.
Here are the pictures of completed work.
Issues: I "lost" initial x61 LCD since it's totally not fits x41t frame without more plastic-cutting-actions; also got some backlit spots on the left side of the new screen (not too annoying, but still), so someday I will need to return to fix this.
Now I'm thinking about doing this one more time but with x31.
I will be here from time to time, so if you got any questions — feel free to ask.

Re: Succefully upgaded X61 with X41t screen
Congrats! You're probably the first one I've encountered online who's done this mod.
Can you mention the exact LCD brand/model of the X41 Tablet screen used in your mod?

Re: Succefully upgaded X61 with X41t screen
x41t's panel was HT12x21-351 and x61's LTN121XJ-L07.
Also, while I was experimenting with this X61 laptop yesterday (based on this topic) I was able to undervolt the T7300 CPU to these values:
1 == 6.0x == 0.8500V
2 == 7.0x == 0.8500V
3 == 8.0x == 0.8875V
4 == 9.0x == 0.9375V
5 == 10.0x == 0.9875V
Runs fine so far. Huge temperature reduction. While typing this post, with 2 tabs opened in Google Chrome, temp is ~43C. Under the load goes up to 70C, but not 90 as it was.

Re: Succefully upgraded X61 with X41t screen
Just to clarify, did you use both the x61's frame and backlight, or just the frame?maxcreations wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:03 pmso I dissasembled both screens and placed X41's LCD to the x61's frame with backlit.
