T23: LCD removal. Where can I find intructions for it?

#1 Post by vakero1 » Wed Jul 13, 2005 8:56 pm

Looks like my t23's LCD is dead.

I can hear windows loading but the screen is dead.

Luckly, I have a old t21 in my closet so I will just install that LCD.

Where can I find the tutorials for the removal of the LCD's?

Thank you.

The Hardware Maintenance Manual is here:

I would recommend changing the whole top cover. It's much easier than changing just the LCD panel.

Check out:

Edit:

It is possible that your LCD is fine, but the bazel "thinks" that the lid is closed and therefor powering off the LCD. In that case replacing the LCD will not help. Try to figure if the bazel button function, maybe using an external monitor. It is also possible that the light is gone, take the computer to the sun to see if you can see something under a strong light.

jhonyl:

You are a SAINT!

I was about to break open my T23 but decided to check this post again.

Indeed, the bazel button is kinda screwed. I turend on the t23 and poked the bazel with a pencil and the LCD turned on.

Thanx alot again.
