R50 Charging Problems

#1 Post by AshitG » Thu Jul 14, 2005 2:22 am

Hi ! I am new to this forum. I am using the R50 since April 2004. Since the past 5-6 days, I have been experiencing problems with the Battery Charging - it does not charge. It kept showing 95%. I use the laptop on adaptor most of the time.
After contacting the local Service Center, I was advised to discharge the battery fully and then try again. Now the battery is down to 4% and still does not charge.
The notebook works when directly connected to the Adaptor, without the battery.
The new Battery Maximiser Gauge shows Zero Charging Current, but still shows the battery condition as good (green). No. of cycles is 51.
I even tried to check the voltages with Adaptor (without battery). They show 0,-2.2, -2.15, -2.2Vdc at the terminals. Are these the correct voltages ? The Battery shows 11.2, 11.2, 7.7 & 7.7Vdc.
Unfortunately, I do not access to another adaptor or battery to check these out.
I have recently upgraded to all the new software upgrades incl. the BIOS, etc. Any help would be appreciated ? Thanks.

In the first time when you charge a new battery you must charge at 12-16 hours and then use untl 0% then do like this 2-3 times for it has the most efficiency and effectiveness
in your case may do like this step to check your battery but in 1 battery has life cycle in 2-3 years or longer than
if your case in warranty i think you must go to the service center to check this problem
if yoou use for a long time may be 1-2 years later this case is nomally case no serious
good luck
^^
