Hi,
I got T42 and getting 4 beeps at cycle of 4 during boot up. I found out that it was the security chip and I can't make the machine to boot. Does anybody knows the fix? Thanks a lot.

Security chip
If you can't get into the BIOS to disable the security chip, you'll probably have to replace the system board. I hope you have a warranty that covers this. I'm not sure of IBM/Lenovo's policy if you hosed it yourself, but If no one has messed with the security features of the laptop, I would think they should make good (if you're still in the warranty period).
I haven't needed warranty service yet, so I'm not sure how customer friendly they are to deal with.
