Hey guys, I need some quick help. I've got a Desktop folder, titled-unused desktop shortcuts. It was a result from running the desktop cleanup wizard, which removes unused icons. Problem now is I can not for the life of me delete this folder. I've managed to delete everything in it, but not the folder itself. Nor can I move the folder to another location. I can not rename this folder either(I was trying everything). So my question is simple. How do I get rid of this annoying folder?
Thanks,
Dan

Here's my best tip of the day:
You have to boot into safe mode to access the Security features in XP. Then you right click on the offending folder, click properties, click the security tab, click advanced, click owner, and choose your username in the box, for example COMPUTER NAME\Administrator then click OK and Properies box will close. Now right click on the folder again, click properties, click the security tab, highlight a user (you can add a user here if you like as well) then make sure you tick the box to give you full control, click OK and properies box will close. Right click on the folder again and you may delete.

DKB
the above works for USB backups too
If you are trying to erase backup files on a USB drive, and can't get the RnR program to delete the files, you can also erase them by the above instructions, no safe mode needed.
(1) check view system folders under folder options
(2) change the permissions on the backup folders (and child folders)
(3) delete!!
But I can't seem to get RnR to acknowledge that I've deleted these backups. This program is so buggy, I'll be sticking with Norton Ghost. Simple and fast!!
