I understand if you order with your visa card you get an extra year warranty does that count towards the certified used notebooks?

AFAIK the warranty extensions offered by the various CC companies specifically exclude used equipment. Doesn't matter that the purchase is direct from IBM, if it's used there's no extension.

You should be able to find the warranty on the CC website, I suggest reading it.

Also, if you get a Certified Used Thinkpad, check the status of it's original warranty om the IBM support site - turns out for example that the T23 I bought a couple months ago was still under it's original on-site support warranty through 7/21/05, and when I called for a keyboard replacement, I think I heard the guy say the warranty was good through 9/25. Point being is sometimes buying the Certified Used stuff gets you a little more warranty than expected. :)
