So I'm expecting my T43 2687DTU in 2 weeks
being excited as I am, I was reading up on reviews of the T43 and was wondering, since my T43 comes with a 9 cell battery, does that mean it's gonna stick out the back by default and that I'll have to buy a normal 6 cell battery if I wanna make it smaller?
Thinkpad T43 2687-DTU: P-M 1.86GHz, Flexview LCD, CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11abg, Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet, Fingerprint Reader, 9c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro ------ my additions: 60GB 7200rpm travelstar, 1GB RAM
And do you know if with the recovery software that comes on the hard drive you can burn your own recovery cds? Reason I ask is that as soon as I get it I have a 7200rpm HD that I wanna put in there, and I want to be able to set up the recovery partition on that one. Am I gonna have to get separate recovery CDs from tech support?

Yes, you can use the recovery CD's that you burn to bring a new hard drive to original factory install condition, including the recovery partition. Just don't mess with partitioning or formating the hard drive first. Let the recovery CD's do that.Merlyn_3D wrote:And do you know if with the recovery software that comes on the hard drive you can burn your own recovery cds? Note: You can only burn one copy of the recovery CD's. The software will not let you make any more copies.
