T43 and Dock I

I am looking at a T43, and I already have an IBM notebook with an older Thinkpad Dock I, not the new Dock II, will a new T43 work in an old Dock I? Because it says that the new Dock II supports my old IBM notebook, so the hardware should be physically the same.

The Dock II has a portion that slides up and down to support the differing placement of the connector between the old and new T series machines.
