Sorry, try again. You're going to have to lower your expectations by a lot -- that drive is $63, NEW. For a USED hard drive of unknown history, age, without assurance of a warranty, i would be willing to pay $20. PM me if you're interested. The drive is in excellent condition, the price is a steal at $65.

That's a 20GB HD, not a 40GB! Apples and oranges.supernova87a wrote:Sorry, try again. You're going to have to lower your expectations by a lot -- that drive is $63, NEW. But you're not far off the price for a new 5K40 at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822146041
A used 5K40, especially an ancient 40GN series such as the OP is offering, is worth NMT $50.

That's an excellent price, for a seller, and just proves that eBay is not a good source for pricing of items such as HDs, memory, etc. due to the fact that the average eBay shopper is not a knowledgeable shopper.thinkpadz wrote:i got 74$ shipped, for mine on ebay. better luck there.
keep in mind the people frequenting this board are prolly a bit savier when it comes to spotting a deal.
A few minutes spent checking prices at newegg and zipzoomfly will often show that what appears to be a "buy" on eBay is often listed for more than twice what a new item is selling for from either of these respected resellers.
There are bargains to be had on eBay, but you have to do your homework.

James
