Anyone else have this keyboard? Worth trying to get Thai?

So my T42 14.1 inch shipped with the ALPS keyboard FRU 13N9957. I have seen many keyboards discussions on this site, but never a mention of that particular FRU. Since this is my first thinkpad I don't really know what to expect with the keyboard although I find mine quite good as is compared with other laptops and decent compared with desktop keyboards (except for the lack of a keypad). Is it worth the effort to try and get IBM to send me the Thai: FRU 08K5044 that people claim is the best keyboard? If I get a keyboard sent to me do I have to send this one back or can I decide which I like better and stick with that one? Thanks in advnace for any help you can provide.
