WTB - NOS/Grade A+ 15" T60 Flexview Display

#1 Post by Plunkyy » Sat Apr 27, 2024 12:49 pm

Hi all, long time lurker here.

Looking for a flexview display in excellent condition. This would be either LP150E05-A2K1 or HV150UX1-100 from my understanding. I'm also open to purchasing already LED modded flexview displays in great condition if it's basically plug and play. Obviously prices will vary drastically between these screens so hit me with an offer and we'll see if we can work something out.

Thanks,
Plunkyy

Aaaand where are you located actually? I may have one or two LP150E05-A2K1

LP150E05-A2K1 and N150U3-L01 should fit your needs too, right?
Too many thinkpads not enough time!

I'm located in Ontario, Canada. I entered that when I signed up so not sure why it doesn't show. LP150E05-A2K1 should work, I don't believe the N150P3-L01 would work as it doesn't contain any EDID information.

I was able to use UXGA IDTechs pulled out of 2005-build T42p and R50p in T60 and Frankenpad, they had EDID. I haven’t torn out my 2004-build panels yet to check them, or looked in my stack of dead-backlight Flexviews, but if it’s a 2005 it’s worth trying.

I have 3 LG Philips SXGA flexviews from T60 but 2 are dim and yellow, the 3rd is not yellow but it’s dim, if that’s just the way it is supposed to be then I wouldn’t give the panel an A+ even when new. The UXGA IDtechs are a lot brighter.

Interesting...
After looking around some older forum posts it seems relatively easily to flash the correct EDID *if* these older displays already have an EEPROM chip. I'm not exactly sure where the EEPROM chip usually is on these displays but I'd imagine one could just look at the back to see if it's on there or not.I'd be interested in any of these older flexviews in great condition if they are confirmed to have an EEPROM chip (If I'm completely wrong about this please let me know).

Shame to hear about your dimmed/yellowed LG displays. I'm in contact with someone with a few of these NOS LG Philips SXGA+ flexviews that have slight defects when the screen is black but function perfectly otherwise. I'm planning on buying one from him but I'd still like to get another NOS/A+ flexview for backup as I'm sure these will be even more impossible to source in the future than they are now.
