T43 Memory Upgrade Thread, the Definitive Guide.

#1 Post by fjearr » Wed Jul 27, 2005 6:57 am

Hi All.

I am looking to upgrade my T43 2668 from its original 512MB, and am wondering if those who have actually upgraded and had positive experiences could reply back to this thread as that would be extremely helpful.

Firstly is there much difference between 512mb and 1GB upgrade performance wise, especially as I read another thread where it says you barely use the maximum assigned total memory so is it really viable to upgrade another 1GB on top of the 512 for an extra $140? or would it be better just to spend $60 for another 512 to make it 1GB total?

Also can anyone who has purchased an extra 1GB please mention the model and details and also wether or not they have found errors after running memtest86. Also if you could add what price you purchased it for that would also be a great help.

Lastly those who opted for ValueSelect ValueRams have they had a good experience with those models on Thinkpad Notebooks (error wise)?

Look forward to all your answers guys.

Cheers
