Error 1802 on R32

#1 Post by pweist » Wed Jul 27, 2005 11:20 am

Boss going on cruise with Thinkpad R32 model 2658 W2K. Purchased IBM a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Adapter for Internet access. Updated BIOS and installed card. Power-up tells me too many Ethernet cards then gives me error 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove mini PCI network card. How can I fix this problem? Thanks in advance for your time in resolving this issue.

1802 is typically because you're not using a genuine IBM card specifically listed as compatible with the machine. Search these forums for 1802 (or google 1802 and thinkpad) and you'll get lots of info
