T42P (2379-DYU) Screen Resolution Problem

Hi All, I've just received a new T42P w/UXGA (max 1600x1200). When I first powered the thing on it was in 1400x1050. I fiddled around and changed it to 1600x1200.

Now I want to get it back and 1400x1050 is no longer available. When I go to Display Properties > Settings the Screen Resolution slider skips directly from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200.

I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Try going to the display properties window where the resolution slider resides and then click Advanced->Adapter->List All Modes.

The various 1400x1050 modes ARE NOT listed. It goes straight from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200.

I know everyone is going to think I was smoking something, but I wasn't! My coworker has a slightly different T42P w/UXGA. As we were setting up my laptop he commented that he liked the 1400x1050 and was going to try running his that way for a while. We BOTH saw it running 1400x1050 (not just assumed. We actually went into Display properties and saw the slider at 1400x1050). The only thing that I can connect to this problem is that I switched it to 1600x1200 for a few minutes, decided I didn't like it and tried to switch it back to 1400x1050.

There was an app (the name of which I can't remember) that gives the ability to use custom resolutions and refresh rates. Maybe someone else will know the name.

On a side note, why bother getting the UXGA screen if you want to use a non-native resolution?

Large corporation. You get what they give you. I could have got a 14.1" SXGA+ T43 for significantly less than what we paid for this T42.
