BestBuy buying Switch 2 online?

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:24 pm

I was just wondering if "In-Store Only" option is timed until the hype dies down. I did buy a Switch 2 game but the console "Both versions $450 and $499" say In-Store Only and greyed out. No option to buy and pickup nor order for home delivery.

I did a check and the Switch 1 OLED I can add to cart and for home delivery. So I am guessing until the hype dies down. I am in no hurry and could go to BestBuy to buy one, but I like using my PayPal pay overtime method.

They do this to stop scalpers from buying all the inventory. And it's a way to get people into the stores. Honestly, hitting up Best Buy or Microcenter is a fun way to waste an afternoon.

Did you end up buying one? I haven't been back to the States in a few weeks to see it yet, but I imagine I'll be holding off until Christmas. Assuming my son gets serious about his grades.

No I didn't get one as I wouldn't be able to use my PayPal credit in store but I did buy a Lenovo Legion Go 512GB.

Honestly the Legion Go is nice and like a Switch but it is very big compared to the Switch or even Switch 2. I am thinking of returning it or if interested selling it. $650 I will sell it for. Bought at bestbuy ($699.99 plus tax $42 = $741.99) I am not a huge hand held gamer and my switch when used is always docked as if you want to play any Nintendo games the switch is the only option. If they made a traditional box console next to the tablet switch I would of got the box console.

It is the 512GB model with 16GB soldered memory. I did look at images online and the 512GB Nvme is upgradable and can just buy the 512GB and upgrade to the 2TB whenever. I may pickup a used Legion laptop and get the Switch 2 later. And used as they are over $1000 for one.
