There's a review of it at LaptopLogic, done on a T42. Generally good, but it wasn't hot swappable on the T42.

I am also considering buying it, just waiting for a good bargain :)

Personally I think it's a waste of money. I own a pair of sennheiser 590 headphones ($300 - studio/audiophile grade) and the sound is fine on the T43. The sound is a little light, but so are my 'phones, if you where to get some deep sounding 'phones/speakers the audio would be even better; the sennheiser 580, 600, or even Grados headphones would go a lot better with this laptop.

The only real benifit would be the 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, but where talking about a laptop here. Who's going to lug around a 7.1 speaker system everywhere they go? And even when docked, I would rather buy an expensive 2.1 over a cheap 5.1/7.1 setup.

I just picked one up and I have to say the sound is pretty amazing - almost blew my headphones off. I ordered a pair of Altec Lansing portable USB speakers and I'll see how they sound when they get in. I like bringing the laptop along for watching DVDs on flights and listening to music - it may be overkill for the price but if you keep your eyes open for good deals it's worth it (mine was $77 at Buy.com with a 10% discount and no shipping charge).

There is way more to do with it. You can hook them up to reciecers and soon you will be able to transfer data back and forth between them (also through bluetooth soon). You can also hook them into a soundboard with a digital processor, so you can record and/or play through the soundboard to the audigy to your pc, and a thinkpad can be an amazing effects pedal (play live music ect) Most professional laptop sound cards are really expensive and arent even as good as a creative consumer card.

I am personally wating for them to come out for an express card slot audigy.
T43p 2687EJU, 512+512 ram, 2ghz, 15 in UXGA, V3200, MultiBurn, ect.
