weak wireless

i have a t40p, with upgraded ibm b/g wireless card, with atheros chipset.

on testing with my other laptops, it is by far the worst. it picks up only 1 of the surrounding 5 wirelesss access points, the strongest one.

this is rather disappointing. do people have similar experiences? can you upgrade the thinkpad with a better wireless card?

I have a t41 with the atheros a,b,g card and couldn't be happier.
most downloads are 3oo-400k/s and have 5 bars with excellent connection anywhere in my house.

Check that the antennae leads are correctly attached to the WiFi card.
