On-Screen Volume Control
At some point my T40 used to display an on-screen meter when you adjusted the volume (using the keyboard buttons.) I'm not referring to the standard Windows volume controls but a somewhat oversized ugly green meter that appeared. I can't seem to find out how to urn that back on and don't recall how I turned it off. Can anyone point my frazzled brain in the right direction?
On Screen Display (which includes the volume control you mention) is part of ThinkPad 'Hot Key Freatures'. This is listed on the page under System Utilities. You can download the executable and readme files from this site:
