2nd hdd adapter on R40. Can't Initialize Disk!

#1 Post by vanaya » Tue Aug 02, 2005 12:27 pm

First off, i have read thru this forum for about a week straight, great info!!

I have an R40 w/ XP pro. Purchased Hdd adapter and installed Toshiba 80GB hard drive. When i go to computer management it shows it is Not Initialized. I right click to start initialize. My arrow changes to hour glass for about 3 seconds and changes back to arrow. It continues to say Not Initialized. I can't format the new partition.

Please Help!!

I finally got hard drive online, then initialized. I had to shutdown various times and hot swap drive.

Next problem, i have also read all white papers on copying HPA. But R40 does not have floppy drive. How can i get HPA on to new drive??

I have read posts to put fwbackup.exe on bootable disk, How??
