#1 Post by Kenn » Wed Aug 03, 2005 12:51 am

Anyone here a beta tester or otherwise? Just curious as to how it runs and if Aero Glass works on the MR9600/FireGLT2 chipset.

I'm in the otherwise category - seems to work good on the FireGL, you cant get lddm drivers for the earlier t series though with the radeon 7500 etc.

Not that impressed with it so far - not much changed from xp other than cosmetic stuff.

what Fire GL video card are you using? I have the Fire GL 9000 and I don't see it on the list of drivers supported from the ATI Vista driver.

Thanks Snife, holla for the "otherwise" category ;)

The metadata tagging and stack features sound very interesting, I want to check those out. Do you find it to be compatible/stable, generally?

use the Standard VGA adapter driver and you can get the full 1400x1050 resolution.

I am running Longhorn in VMware Workstation on my Thinkpad.
I am probably missing out on all eye candies since VMware's graphics driver does not have full 3d support, but it runs well enough.

Has anyone gotten their 1400x1050 display to work with the correct driver? Everything is running great with the (BIG) exception of hardware accelerated graphics. I have to either compromise with 800x600 and Aero Glass effects or go normal resolutution with no hardware accelerated graphics.

not me and I played with it for ages - only by using the Standard VGA driver could I get this resolution.
