Service pack 2

I just updated to service pack 2. Before my hard disk space was about 34gig now its down to 26gigs :?

How much space does it take?

Check System Restore. It sounds like you had it disabled before SP2 and it became re-enabled.

Generally when you install a service pack update, it creates an uninstall folder, so that you can roll back to the pre-service pack state. Check in Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel and see if SP2 is listed there. If it is, then you could uninstall it if you wanted.

You should be able to remove this uninstall folder if you are sure you want to keep the update. I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS MYSELF, but it seems to me it would work. See following link for name of uninstall folder:

The system restore idea is a good one to check. SP2 by itself does not take 8Gb or anything close to that. ... JD Hurst

but how can I find out how much space this service pack is taking?
Anyone have an idea?
