got the X41 - Q about the keyboard

#1 Post by wpwy » Wed Aug 03, 2005 3:41 pm

my first post. :)

after a long month of waiting i got the X41 this morning. to people whose X41s are being held at KY: it seems that it takes about 10 days for the customs to clear it. this has happened to both my X41 and the X40 I purchased a while ago.

question to those of you who already have the X41: do you feel that the keyboard is somewhat different from that of X40 or other thinkpads? the keyboard on mine is a lot more "clicky" -- kind of sounds like the older mechanical IBM keyboards (but not that loud, although still kind of noisy when I type fast). I am wondering if I am getting a defective keyboard (since neither my R51 or X40 did this) or did Lenovo made some changes to the keyboard for the X41s...

Many thanks.

You are right, the keyboard of X41 is not so good as X40.

Will lenovo do that for you?
By the way, which model of X41 do you have?

i got the crucial ram. comes out to be about $130-140 shipped (forgot the exact cost). i know newegg sells the kensington ram for $99 but micron is micron and I think it's worth the premium, similar to how people buy thinkpads at a premium over functionally comparable dells.
