T41 or T42 ?

#1 Post by cfemocha » Fri Jun 25, 2004 6:10 pm

I'm deciding between buying a T41 or a T42, all specs seemed to be exactly the same (except from screen size)... can someone tell me what is the major difference between the two models and which one is better?
These are the models Im deciding on:

T41 ( 23739FU ):
PENTIUM M 1.7 14.1" SXGA 60GB (7200rpm) 512MB CDRWDVD

and

T42 ( 2378DXU ):
PENTIUM M 1.7 15" SXGA 60GB (7200rpm) 512MB CDRWDVD

Is it worth buying a laptop with 1GB ram or would it be better to upgrade it myself later on?

Thanx in advance!

This T42 model has the new, faster Dothan CPU, 15" FlexView with wider viewing angle. It doesn't have Bluetooth and has Intel b/g wireless (23739FU has IBM a/b/g), and comes with one year warranty (but you can upgrade it within a year). I would choose the T42. As for the RAM, 512MB is plenty, but depends on the program you are going to use. And you can upgrade it anytime (takes about a minute).
