T42p, T43p and screen and darkening

#1 Post by Photios » Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:02 am

I have owned a T43p and traded it in on a T42p due to fan noise. Both computers have a darkening in the lower right corner of the screen where the clock is displayed in the task bar. Both of the screens were 1600x1200. I'm wondering if anyone sees this same darkening in the right hand corner of their screen. I can't see the darkening if I rotate the computer 30 degrees to the left.

that is the characteristic of lcd screen. all lcd screens have certain bleeding characteristic to it. it's perfectly normal. and normally it bleeds on lower right corner of the screen.

i don't know why lower right around the clock area. but that seems to be the way it is. i have looked through countless lcd screens from top of the line to low end notebooks, from dell, toshiba, sony, ibm, fujitsu, hp, etc, and they all acquired this characteristic of light darkening on the lower hight corner of the lcd screen to various degree from one lcd screen to the other.

Yep, my T42 definitely has a darkening on the lower right corner. It's not particularly annoying or anything, since I don't look at that area that often. In fact, it kinda has this 3D page-turning effect

I just received my T43p the other day and it too has that. I have the 15" UXGA.

I was considering sending it in to have that repaired but at the same time I could live with it. Not sure yet. What would they say if I sent it back due to that?

Thanks

I see it on my T43p 15" UXGA also. Comforting to know I'm not the only one
