New bios for T43, 1.22 (1YET57WW)?

#1 Post by alpuzz » Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:39 am

Anyone know what this means? They apparently made some sort of change to the video memory settings but it isn't at all specific: I wonder if this is at all related to heat issues? Has anyone tried this bios yet?

- (New) Adjustment of video memory settings on ATI-M24 models.
Due to this, the previous BIOS release can't support the new video memory settings.

Not the most articulate of release notes, are they?

What the heck does this mean, and how can I use that statement to decide if I need to upgrade my BIOS?

If I upgrade, does that mean the new video settings are supported? How can they change what the previous release can or can't support?

If they're going to write the release notes, all two lines of it, in English, they need to find an English literate person to do it.

I wonder if this means that because of these "new video settings", downgrading back to an old bios would be problematic?

I have. I saw no difference. I didn't notice any changes in the bios settings. It was only written 1.22 instead of 1.08.
