380z Battery

I am having one heck of a time getting a good battery from the guy I bought my laptop from. He finally finds 2 and I test them, one will not take a charge and the other one pretends to take a charge and lasts 30 seconds before power off.

The reason I post this is, is it possible the batteries are good and my laptop battery connection is bad? Somehow, I doubt that, but I wanted to ask just to make sure. Thanks for the help.
