i'm thinking about blowing away my preload. After I reinstall, I intend to just let software installer do its thing; However, i'm just curious what condition the machine will be in immediately after Windows setup? Will network and video already be working? What about sound?
Thanks,
--Al

You will need to back up the driver for the Ethernet or Wireless Card that's all. You need to be able to get online to use the Software Installer and windows won't pick up either one. You don't have to worry about the rest because Software Installer will install almost everything for you. The Access IBM manual you have to download manually as well as the IBM Rescue and Recovery. If you are sure that you already have the lastest version of those two, back them up also so you don't have to download them again.
T43 2668-75U: 2GHz, 14.1" SXGA, 2GB RAM, 64MB ATI x300, DVD Recordable, IBM 11a/b/g Wi-Fi Wireless II, Bluetooth, Fingerprint Reader.
