hidden partition question

#1 Post by ssvapk » Mon Aug 08, 2005 5:19 pm

I have disabled the Predeskto area in the BIOS. But still I don't see the 5GB space. Out of 80 Gb I see only 75 GB.

quite common, don't worry. You can't get full size never :? A couple of space belongs to the table (e.g. for my 40GB drive it is 1Gig of wasted space). It depends on the drive formatting and the size of clusters.
Let's go'n'restart :-)

Manufacturers describe GB as 1000**3 bytes, but Windows reports GB as 1024**3. Your "80GB" drive is actually 74.5GB.

The Predesktop Area is usually hidden from the OS even though you've disabled it in the BIOS. You will need something like Partition Magic, Ghost, etc. to view it.
