Questions re: T42 2378R4U

#1 Post by pmacc » Mon Aug 08, 2005 7:35 pm

Hello,

Does anyone have the 2378R4U? I'm looking for some general feedback. This laptop will be for my sister who is just starting college - general use really.

? - Besides componentry, are there major differences between the T42 and T42 Express models (like case, keyboard or general construction)?

I'm looking at $1234 on the Lenova website (+tax?!?), which will also include a free 512M RAM (uninstalled, I presume). Does anyone know of any better deals.

This seems like a fantastic deal (and IBM has >100 on hand), which is why I'm a bit paranoid that there's something wrong with the model. Please let me know if there is.

Many Thanks,
Pat

Express models are machines built on spec by IBM/Lenovo in anticipation of there being a demand for that specific model.

They're exactly the same as all other Thinkpads in build quality, no shortcuts taken.

Express models usually have the lowest pricing for a specific configuration.

Any "free" memory will come pre-installed.

With IBM/Lenovo's 30 days, no questions asked return policy, there's no need for any paranoia.
