Need help: Displays of 570e and 600 series interchangeable?

Folks,
I got me an old 570E, which I morphed into an iTunes streaming client for my music server.
However the display is very poor and needs replacement (dim, scratches, etc.).

I checked dozends of web pages trying to find the evidence, that the 13.3" XGA of the 570E series is compatible with the 13.3" XGA of the 600 series. But only got confusing results, since IBM also changed their stock numbering system.

Does anyone have already exchanged their old displays?
And can give me a quick Yes/No hint?

600 series screens are abundant on eBay, those 570E screens are rare as gems.

They're a straight swap Zaphod, although the surrounds (plastic) are not.

Unfortunately this ^^ is not true. Here's a photo of the two LCD connectors. Obviously they do not match. The 570E panel is a TX34D71VC1CAB Hitachi one. (I know this is old, just in case someone can use this info)
