Bluetooth cards 91P7319 and 39T0022?

#1 Post by tom101 » Wed Aug 10, 2005 8:59 am

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two bluetooth daughter cards part numbers 91P7319 and 39T0022? I want to add bluetooth to my T41 2373-271 and just discovered that the bluetooth antenna is tucked under the modem card.

Many thanks,

tom

As far as I know, 91P7319 (has been replaced with a new part number, 27R1880) is BMDC 2, for T42, not for T41.

can anyone confirm that it won't work on the t41?

I think it's a better card.. isn't it?

As long it is BMDC-2 it will work on a T40/T41/T42.. the 39T0022 might not work as it is for T43 ( this might be the next generation card, BMDC-3/4) .....

The BMDC-2 will work in a T43 though.

Do you know if there is a new part number for the clear plate for T42? The old number is 13R2455 but it's no longer available for ordering online.

Not sure if this helps but on the Lenovo site the 27R1880 is listed as
CDC Bluetooth/modem card
Integrated Bluetooth III with 56K Modem
for the Thinkpad X40 models
* 2371 - Rxx
* 2372 - Rxx
* 2382 - Rxx
* 2386 - Rxx

and the 91P7319 is listed right above it with the same name but different model numbers. Looks like the 27R1880 replaced the 91P7319 in the newer models.

I have the 27R1880. I haven't fiddled enough with it, to get the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack installed, and that's what I'm used to, from my other PC. Per default, it uses Microsofts Bluetooth stack.

91P7319 and 91P7315 both can work on your T41. 39T0022 only for T43, R52, X32 and X41(tablet). Someone uses 39T0022 on t41, but only BT working ( Modem not working).

Just confirmed 27R1880 also works in my 2378-R4U (also T42) $20 on ebay was way too cheap not to try it.

91P7319, Bluetooth III, BMDC200 Rev. B, works fine in 2374-BU8. Added non-IBM 4" antenna. All IBM software and shortcut (Fn-F5) works. LED can be seen behind the plastic on front and rear, need new clear plates.

See other posts to get IBM Bluetooth software to work properly. Very nice once working.

Good luck.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a set of clearplates for my T41?

I found the FRU number, 13N5666, here but when I tried ordering it from the IBM website it didn't recognize the part number.

The Service Parts Manual only lists that one FRU number for the clearplate, am I correct in assuming that it includes both bluetooth and non-bluetooth plates?
