Intel 2200 B/G wifi problem

#1 Post by guitarboy716 » Wed Aug 10, 2005 8:37 pm

I just got my new r51 2883 last thursday, but I can't get the wifi card to see the .B network at my house. I called IBM and after several hours, it was mutually agreed that it wasn't a harware problem on my side. This wifi network has been up and running for quite sometime, ihave several other computers up and running on it.

My thinkpad will even see networks from down the street, it just will not see my router. I have all the current drivers and software, and i've turned the firewall off, and still...nothing...

ANY help would be greatly appreciated....i'm getting desperate

The Intel 2200 with the very newest software works well with my Netopia B router and with WPA (which is the only way I will let the router run). So try the newest drivers (uninstall Access Connections first and reinstall Access Connections after upgrade). Also, check your router firmware. LinkSys of late (since Cisco bought them) have had numerous firmware problems that I had not had with earlier LinkSys boxes.

Try changing the wireless channel the router is working on.
