T43p and Presentation Director (W2K)

Hi,
my T43p running under Windows 2000 fails to run the Presentation Director (newest version). Start of the Presentation Director ends with the failure message "NPDDev.dll" could not be loaded. May this be caused by the ATI Graphic driver includes a separate tool for external / internal monitor setting?
As I have currently a second W2K installation as a "fallback" system in case the "main" W2K fails, I tried the Presentation director with this installation. This W2K has just the ATI driver installed and the Presentation Director fails as well...
Anyone got the Presentation Director running in this constellation.
(I don't want to change to Win XP...)
