T30 Touchpad problem

#1 Post by Mike Ridolfino » Mon Aug 15, 2005 1:00 am

Ran into a problem where the left mouse button on my touchpad wasn't working, but the middle and right worked fine. First thing I tried was swapping to a left handed setup to see if the button had gone bad. When switched, the right mouse button ceased to work, but the left and middle worked fine. I reinstalled the drivers for the touchpad, did a repair install of windows, ran a full spyware and virus scan, and still had the same problem. So I reformatted, reinstalled windows and the drivers, and still have the same problem. If I plug a USB mouse in, it works fine, so I don't think it could be any software related issue. Both buttons on the touch pad do physically work. So somewhere the "primary" mouse click has been disabled on the hardware level. I'm completely stumped, maybe someone can help me.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Are you still under warranty? I'd send the machine in for repair if possible.
