FS: Thinkpad T42 2378-FVU w. Upgrades & Extras

#1 Post by Mgbrown » Mon Aug 15, 2005 1:19 am

For Sale: Thinkpad T42 2378-FVU. This is the model with the 64mb Radeon 9600 card and 14.1'' SXGA+ display. I have upgraded the ram and hard drive, and will also include a shinza sleeve as part of the deal. I had previously attempted selling the machine, but due to sporradic interest happening at the worst times I have not sold it yet. Pics are linked at the bottom.

Asking price is $1100 + shipping.

Specs:

Processor: 1.7ghz pentium M
Ram: 768mb (256 stock chip + 512meg upgrade)
HD: 80gb 5400rpm drive (upgraded from stock 40gb)
Video Card: 64mb Radeon 9600 mobile

Again, I'll also include a Shinza Sleeve as part of the deal.

This machine is in excellent condition. I bought it in February for school, but have unfortunately found it to be a bit too big for my uses. The machine has mostly been sitting in its shinza sleeve. I have drained the battery maybe 15 times; other than that it has been used only occasionally for writing papers in the library and light gaming on the road. The keyboard and trackpad/point have barely been used (check the keyboard shot).

I will reformat the 80gig drive and install all of the applicable drivers for whoever buys it. I will also install the antispyware security suite employed by my university if desired (I am an IT consultant here).

I never submitted the machine's warranty, so perhaps it is possible to get the full 1 year warranty bundled with the machine - this would be up to the buyer.

For any further information, please do not hesitate to email me at mgbrown@middlebury.edu

Optical drive: standard CDRW / DVD
Wireless: integrated Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG without bluetooth (though an upgrade is possible with a ~$40 part)

It's not upgradable to my knowledge...it does perform pretty well for a 64 meg card though (WoW benched great at 12xx by 1024 the couple times i played it on the machine)
