win xp changing appearance takes too long

Hi all,

I'm using Win XP, SP2 on my machine and for some reason, changing between the appearance settings on 'DISPLAY PROPERTIES' (I mean changing from default blue to green or silver, etc...) takes too long (about 20-30 sec).

I have P4-M, 1.8Ghz processor
640MB Ram
60G Hitachi 5400 Rpm harddrive

Is it a problem with a setting somewhere?
