Thinkpad T20 Indicator lights flashing. Hear Crackling sound

I went to turn on my Thinkpad T20 this morning. The machine indicator lights were flashing on and off. I also heard a crackling sound as though there were a short. I hear the fan come on, not sure about the hard drive.
