A20M STICKS ON IBM SPLASH SCREEN
Hi
i have looked for a similar post, and cant find one, so if this is a redundant question....I apologise.
I have an a20m. When I power up, it sticks on the IBM screen where you can choose to enter bios or choose temp boot device. i can choose either option and it seems to try but then sticks either entering bios or loading boot devices list.
I can get it no further.
Any help will be appreciated.

Ever fix it?
Just curious if you ever found a fix for this issue? I have an A21m that is doing the exact same thing. Can't figure out what to do. I can't get off the IBM splash screen.

i replaced the motherboard and that fixed the splash screen issue. now i cant get a hard drive to work in it. i have tried 4 or 5 known good hd's and it will find them, then sai it can not format them. they all work in my other laptops. even hd's with os installed encounter more errors on boot up than i care to mention.
i have subsequently given up, concluding that i am too stupid to repair or own an ibm. i will stick with my dells. say what you will about them, but they are fairly easy to repair and upgrade.
good luck with yours!

Confused way, thank you for the heads up. I was considering installing a new system board myself(off ebay), but have been reluctant to do so figuring I may be investing money into a machine that may never work right. You pretty much confirmed my suspicion. I wouldn't mind paying $80 for a mobo that would give me a fully functioning machine, but it is more than I care to spend on a shot in the dark. Good luck.
