Access Connections with Linksys WPC11 V4?

#1 Post by bhtooefr » Sun Aug 21, 2005 7:34 am

Anyone gotten it to work?

I can get the WPC11 V4 to connect to networks (whatever it connects to automatically), and Access Connections detects it as a wireless card. However, AC won't detect any networks. That is, if the card's connected, it'll say that it's disconnected, and if I scan for networks, it won't find any. However, I can pull up Opera, and go to web sites no problem, using the wireless connection.

If I understand your problem correctly, you are using a Linksys wireless adapter in your X21. IBM Access Connections only works with certain wireless adapters, and specific drivers for these adapters. AFAIK the Linksys WPC11 V4 is not among them.

Access Connections 3.71 wireless driver requirements

Access Connections 3.53 wireless driver requirements

Basically, I have to either get a new WiFi card, or use the Linksys software?

Crap.

Interestingly, AC detects it as a WiFi card...

I'm typing this post on the WiFi at my high school right now, FWIW... it's just not managed by ANYTHING (just connects to the first open net it finds).

Well, I guess I'm installing the Linksys software...
