T42p Dock and PCI FX5500 Video Card
I was wondering if I could put a BFG FX5500 video card in the dock, and use it for games instead of the FireGL T2. Double the memory would be nice for CS:S.
Just a thought. Thank you.

This is a question that I have as well..
I'm considdering a Dock II from eBay to drop in a PCI Video Card(Radeon 9250) as quite a few users here have done(according to searches)..but the specs for the Dock II report it as a Half-Size PCI slot, not a full size. I'm curious as to a half-size 9250 card that I have been unable to find or if it actually supports a full size PCI card.
Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated as my auction ends soon!!

I have a 9250 card in my dock right now and it works fine. I looked at the picture of the 5500 card and it appears to be the same size as other cards that I've run successfully in the dock.
Most cards that I have will fit in the dock (some are a tight squeeze). I've tested six or so (video, SCSI, data acq boards, firewire, etc). I wouldn't rely on IBM's "half height" guideline as this is very vague as to whether a card will actually fit.
The only modern cards I've found that won't fit are the Matrox Parhelia line of video cards (PCI-256 and QID-PRO). If they were just a millimeter shallower, they would work. Maybe I should get some sandpaper.

Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
