Windows media player and screen off function.

#1 Post by kaplanfx » Mon Aug 22, 2005 9:12 pm

When I am running windows media player, I can not turn off the monitor on the thinkpad using the Fn F3 command. It works or seems to work in all other cases. The preparing to turn off monitor message comes up but goes away after a second or two and the monitor does not go off. Does anyone know the fix for this? On a related note, does anyone know how I can set it so that when I am playing a song in WMP or itunes the laptop won't sleep when I close the lid, but it all other cases it should sleep normally.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Just tried it on my T42. Same problem. Occurs with Windows Media Player while playing a video. Same thing with RealPlayer. However WinAmp will play a video and allow the display to be turned off. :?
