Drive not FirstWare capable... Why? Can I make it that?

Hi,

My disc in my X31 has sector errors so I'm going to replace it. I bought a new 40Gb disc and I have done images of my drive and have also "back up" my HPA to files.

However, now I'm trying to restore the HPA but it won't work. When I run the fwrestor command I get the following error:
"Error: THe specified drive is not FirstWare capable".

Why is that? Are not all discs compatible with IBMs HPA? Is there special discs that must be used or can I make my disc FirstWare capable?

The disc is a brand new Western Digital WD400 (WD Scorpio)
