This is in the X forum b/c it's in the context of this X21.
I wish to run this thing dual-headed.
I'm running Windows 2000.
IBM says that dual-head is only supported under 98 and Me. I refuse to run 98 or Me b/c they're not real OSes...
Putting the CRT as a slave to the LCD using the ATI software gives the two the same desktop (but different resolutions - 800x600 for the CRT, XGA for the LCD), which is a 1024x768 desktop, and is scrolled on the CRT (b/c the desktop area is greater than the screen resolution, so only 800x600 of the desktop is viewable at a time - the LCD shows the whole desktop, though). This means that the GPU is capable of sending two separate images on Windows 2000.
So, what gives?
Is there some setting I can change to get dual-head support? What about STABLE alternative drivers?
As long as my LCD's resolution is not less than 1024x768x16 by doing this, and the CRT is at at least 16-bit color, I don't care what resolution the CRT gets. (However, I'd prefer 24 or 32-bit color all around...)
