Prob with ultrabay battery using embedded controller 1.05

#1 Post by stingbandel » Tue Aug 23, 2005 6:20 pm

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem as before after updating my embedded controller to 1.05.

The problem is usually when we have the ultrabay installed on the machine then the ultrabay battery will decharge first when it's 0 percent then it will move to the main battery.

However, when the ultrabay battery dries out, the machine doesn't want to go to the main battery. The system just goes off.

I have to use the ac adaptor to turn on the machine.

Does anybody experience the same thing as me? If I am not mistaken, embedded control 1.04 solves the problem.

Let me go back to 1.04 and post an update.

Thanks

I am using A31p 2653 H5U and BIOS and Embedded are the latest version

hmmm...I just did a clean XP and was wondering about the latest SW from IBM.

The battery issue isn't really a problem for me 'cause mine's on AC all the time, but it does make me wary of the newest Emb'Controller version.

I do have an U'Bay battery though, so I could try reproducing the issues you're having.

Gawd! We've done this before!

The previous problem-free BIOS/Emb'Controller combo has been fine, but now I'm not sure which it was

Any other issues with the newest drivers, etc.?
