Problem with Software Installer (T41)

ok i just used it to search recommended updates, and installed new "radeon"... i also downloaded bios update, not installed yet... so in Installer i put the cursor on the bios update line (where the box is checked) and the line starts flashing and then i can't exit Installer (PkgMgr?) without ctrl-alt-del...

I have had another problem after the last upgrade on this software. That is to say with mine and many more T42. When it is searching the web it stopps after a few seconds and then it crashes the program. I have tested this same program on a T30 and T41 with no problem what so ever.

The Pkgmgr is I think the Software Installer program. Try to reinstall it again.

Regarding BIOS updates, be very carefull. If you shutdown or reboot your laptop at the wrong time, you may need a new system board! I suggest you read the text file for the BIOS update before you install it. I just updated the BIOS on my T42 with no problem, however I did not trust Software Installer for this (just personal nervousness on my part). I downloaded and installed the BIOS update manually.
