Asset tag upgrade for EXISTING ThinkPad?

I have a T42 2373J4U approximately one year old - I would like to have and IBM asset tag installed. Anyone ever had this performed?

I know if I ordered a new TP this would only cost me $12 but I wonder how much I could have one installed for.

There are several aftermarket tags for tracking, recovery, etc. but I want the factory one.

Any info would be helpful.
