Help... my bluetooth mouse stopped working!

#1 Post by jayk » Mon Jun 28, 2004 1:12 pm

I have a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth that was working fine with my new T42 but now has stopped. I've tried rebooting, pressing the 'connect' button on the mouse, removing and replacing the batteries on the mouse, and disabling/re-enabling the bluetooth via Fn-F5. The Bluetooth light on the front panel goes off and on and it should, but it's not blinking or anything when I move the mouse/press the buttons. The control panel/wireless panel seems to see the mouse, but the computer is not responding to movements/clicks/etc. Any ideas?

It was the batteries. Even though the light was very bright and flashing (on the mouse), I guess the batteries were pretty drained. New batteries solved the problem. I had thrown the mouse in my backpack along with my Thinkpad over the weekend w/out removing the batteries. Apparently that really drained the batteries. Would sure be nice if they put some kind of on/off switch on the wireless mice.

the mouse provides a "going to standby after xx minutes of inactivity" feature.

so if you are not moving the mouse for a longer time, the mouse stops associating with the thinkpad and keeps in standby mode as long as you don't move your backpack.

just wait 10 min and then move your mouse. the mouse won't act right now (re-pairing with your thinkpad bluetooth).

i had the m$ mouse for 2 weeks. try the logitech mx 900 bt. not that comfortable and "blue", but more precision and you have a cradle as option.

works w/o problems with the internal bt. no need for bt sticks.
