T43 order and confusing delivery

Let me say that the information here was very helpful in my research on laptops. Had narrowed it down to the T series, Dell D610, and HP nc6320. Decided on a T43 because it seemed to offer the best overall price deal (I'm aware of all the potential problems).

But, with that said, I ordered a 2686M4U on student discount with a 3 year depot warranty, extra 512 RAM stick (promotion), a case, and the slim battery. But, the battery and case were already in stock and claimed that they were expected to ship today (8/24/05).

I know, however, that they try to ship the order in one complete set. So, they changed the ship date to "Call". And the actual computer is set to be shipped by September 13. What should I make of these dates? Just that it'll come sometime by late September? Or...hope for more?
