I'm heading off to university in a week, particulary to first year engineering. However, I still havent bought my laptop yet. Basically I have a choice between the 2738REU and the 2378RBU.
Now I play CS Source, so naturally I'd want to get the REU because of the 9600. However, I might want to cut the habit because it might interfere with my grades. I'll be living on campus, and will be using it for school work, watch dvd's, and engineering applications, if any.
So the question is, which one should I get? Would the 7500 run the needed engineering applications?
Help! Which to choose?
no first-person shooters on notebooks!
Hi!
Not really answering your question, I wouldnt anyone recommend to play ego-shooters on a notebook in general, just because the response time isnt anywhere near a CRT monitor.
It is perfectly fine to play strategy games, e.g. wc3, at your notebook, which I also like to play sometimes on my t43 (exept the fact that you are much slower with the hotkeys compared to a desktop keyboard); but playing cs or quake3 with 60hz extremly limits your performance (quick moves, flick shots, usage of bindings, ...)
In the quake3 scene, we run the game with a monitor refresh rate of 125hz to ensure the smoothest gaming experience possible (due to 125fps limitation built in the game)
Quick summary: for 1st person shooters, buy a desktop machine and a crt or a very good tft
oh btw.: if you plan to use your thinkpad together with a decent setup (monitor/keyboard/mouse), forget what I wrote above
