Undervolting!!

#1 Post by TimWang » Thu Aug 25, 2005 10:34 pm

Well, I just installed CHC today and have been messing around with the settings a bit and I was just wondering whether this is safe. After about 2 hours of tweaking and crashing my computer about a dozen times, I think I have come to the optimal settings. In addition my idle temps have only decreased around 4-5 degrees C (from 50 to 45).

I've read some of the settings that other people have been using on a 1.86Ghz CPU and I tried applying the same settings but I experience many random crashes so I increased settings.

Here are my current settings:
6x @ 0.716v
8x @ 0.796v
10x @ 0.876
12x @ 0.972
14x @ 1.068

Can anyone give some comments on these settings? Thanks. BTW, I am running a 1.86 Sonoma.

Hello,
I have pretty the same value, i just increased them for high multiplicators (it was here where my t43p was unstable.

Code: Select all

6x 0.700
8x 0.876
9x 0.956
10x 0.988
11x 1.020
12x 1.068
13x 1.116
14x 1.164
Temperature drops are little when original temps are already quite low. I mean if somebody had 60°C when idling and applies these voltages, he certainly would gain 10°- 15° of temp drop.

But my own t43p wouldn't go under 42°C in a 21-22°C room when idling.

Remember : the nearer of the ambiant temperature, the less the temperature drop ;-)
